My ignonimous departure from my longtime job in the record store has dimmed my ardor for the time being. I need to get it back. I love records, I love music. It's just painful for me. I was disappointed by the manner of my firing, even though it has worked out really well for me. I just need to make some seperation. I'm trying to separate music from the music industry. I have been working on my spiritual practice to make things better for myself.

Weather is not climate. The world is not ending. But, things are changing, and not always to our species expectations. The world will continue. And humanity will adapt or die. Maybe adapt and die. I don’t think anyone will live forever, although that is just my opinion.

So, today in my town it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and I had to clear up a fallen limb in my backyard. I started work before high noon, and worked with my clippers and loppers for a couple of hours. It felt great to sweat, and to work slowly and methodically to clip the branches into the compost bin. I was reminded of the work my grandfather in law did when I first moved over to Boise, and I didn’t comprehend the rate that he was working. Now that I’m close to the age he was then, it makes sense to me. I am not in a hurry to get things done. I know that the job takes the amount of time the job takes. And I am on board with that.
