Been thinking about the cultural detritus of the cloud age, and I think it’s time to do what our forefathers in the culture jamming arena did. A spanner in the works. A wooden shoe in the gears. Sabotage.

We need to fight slop with slop, but most people don’t care. We all have a sell by date anyway.

Date: 20 Dec 2025 10:02 (UTC)Best for Yule, John.
I drop in every now and then to see what you're doing. You haven't written much here... more on substack?
I like that you say what you feel. It often matches.
I have been intrigued by your music selection but only playing classical myself for the past year. There's a loss behind it which is still way too tender.
Tonight the online radio station has veered too far out of my taste and I am playing what is on my own computer. Starting with Amiina!

Date: 20 Dec 2025 16:11 (UTC)It has been strange to be divorced from retail. Not that I'm a retail therapy person.
I worked every christmas season at the record store, and the strange thing is
I don't miss it. And I thought I would.
Looking forward to being warm again.
All the music I hear plays in my head, or on the internet, or even over the air.
I'm sad that I don't feel as passionate or obsessive with music as I once was.
But it's going to be ok. Everything is cyclical, and the solstice brings rebirth.
be well.
